Ampler Development Team starts in Croatia

The Baltic-Finnish continental level cycling team starts their racing season in Croatia. There will be three races in the program. The one day races Umag Trophy ( 03.03.21 UCI 1.2 ) & Poreč Trophy ( 07.03.21 UCI 1.2 ) will be suitable for fast finishers and the four day long Istrian Spring Trophy ( 11-14.03.21 UCI 2.2 ) will have some hard stages for climbers.

"It looks like the level of the races will be higher compared to last year's, there will be three Pro Teams lining up next to 22 continental teams," told Ampler Development Team's Sports Director Jaan Kirsipuu. "It will be a good start in to the season with 6 days of racing in total."

Ampler Development Team will have Gleb Karpenko (EST), Artjom Mirzojev (EST), Pauls Rubenis (LAT), Kristers Ansons (LAT), Ukko Peltonen (FIN) and Antti-Jussi Juntunen (FIN) in the line up.

"We are confident that the boys are ready to fight for the podiums. The winter preparation has gone well and most of the boys could train over the last seven weeks in Salou, Spain. Only Ukko Peltonen had to go to school in Finland and deal with the cold weather and snow after the Spanish training camp held in January," told their coach Toms Flaksis.

"As there isn't much of racing left in the second category ( UCI calendar ) for March & April, we decided to use the older and more experianced guys for those spring starters. After those races we won't have anything in the program for 2 months, all of the races, we were invited to, are cancelled by now. We have a very talented young squad with Joonas Kurits and Aivaras Mikutis staying at home and training for the races to come beginning from the month of May-June. The situation for youth (U23) isn't easy at the moment, at least the boys can go to school and prepare properly for the school exams," explained Ampler Development Team's manager Rene Mandri.
